Early Bird Registration for Medtrade Spring in Full Swing

Medtrade Spring takes place March 10-12 (Monday to Wednesday), 2014, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Unlike previous years, Wednesday will mark the conference’s final day, and Monday will be packed with in-depth workshops.

“Time is valuable for all attendees,” says Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade. “We are condensing Medtrade Spring a bit in an effort to make it as efficient as possible.” 

Part of that effort involves bringing back the 6-4-18 Series. Specifically designed to provide six building blocks for success in the next eighteen months, the six sessions in Orlando taught attendees about: effective collections; purchasing and cash flow management; reducing risk; diversification and operational efficiencies; and leading transformation in the business. 

At last month’s Medtrade, these presentations were included with a conference pass, but Medtrade Spring will offer a new, value-added twist. “6-4-18 is going to be open to all,” says Gaffney. “We are hoping to make it easy. These sessions will be available via a new learning lab on the show floor. Medtrade is committed to survival and success of the HME industry. By making these important sessions open to all, we believe a large number of providers will benefit.”

Using Brightree as a Business Management Tool

Recognizing Excellence in DME – An Introduction to the Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME)

The Certified DME Specialist (CDME) is a person who demonstrates broad knowledge of the DME/supply industry, including prescription verification, intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management. This workshop will cover the scope of practice for the CDME and prepare attendees to take the CDME examination. THERAFIRM Certified Fitter’s Training Course: Understanding Venous Disease and the Business of Compression Hosiery

THERAFIRM’s certified fitter training course is designed to provide the fitter of medical compression stockings, either experienced or brand new, with the needed medical knowledge to safely measure, fit and select the appropriate product for patients with venous insufficiency. The seminar covers the following topics: Circulatory Anatomy and Physiology, Venous Disorders, THERAFIRM Product Overview, Measuring and Fitting, and Growing Your Business with Compression Hosiery. At the completion of the course, the attendee will receive a certified fitter’s certificate from THERAFIRM indicating they have the training and knowledge to fit compression hosiery.

Co-Locating with DMGCME
The March 2014 program of Dillehay Management Group Continuing Medical Education (DMGCME) will be “co-locating” with Medtrade Spring.  

Several hundred people from the DMGCME meeting—including physicians, physician assistants, physical therapists, and respiratory therapists—will participate in the Medtrade show. 

“For Medtrade, they would have some additional qualified buyers on the show floor,” says Charles B. Dillehay, MBA, CAE, president, DMGCME ( “We would provide several hours of exclusive time to our convention attendees to see those products and services offered on the Medtrade show floor.”
