STONE MOUNTAIN, GA – Representatives of Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC) have collected donations after nine Medtrades and last month’s show in Orlando, Fla, was no different.
“We want every exhibitor to have great sales at the show,” says Chris Brand at FODAC. “However, we offer companies the ability to donate demo items that they did not sell to us, instead of paying shipping to send it back to the company.”
Brand reports that FODAC accepted more than $30,000 of donated DME in Orlando (pictured here) that they were able to immediately give to recipients in need. “Our success at Medtrade is also linked to helping us maintain partnerships with the manufacturers who help us when we are meeting needs during disasters,” adds Brand. “A Medtrade e-blast collected more than $250K worth of donations for the tornadoes that ravaged the southeast in 2011, along with the floods in Tennessee.
“Invacare has always lead the way with donations,” continues Brand, “including oxygen tanks after the Missouri tornado, and wheelchairs and equipment for Hurricane Sandy and Oklahoma tornadoes.”
