ORLANDO, FL – For many HME providers, attending Medtrade is not a choice. It’s a necessity. In a particularly difficult year for the industry, the stakes are simply too high to miss out on the kind of knowledge and products that can only be found at Medtrade.
Colleen E. Hunter (pictured, left), owner of Browning’s Pharmacy and Healthcare, Melbourne, Fla, is one of many who consider the show to be a can’t-miss event. “You always learn something at Medtrade,” says Hunter. “Even if you only learn one thing, it can be valuable. There are no business interruptions, and you are just learning and talking.”
Medtrade presenter Jim Greatorex (pictured, right), owner of Black Bear Medical, Portland, Me, experiences Medtrade as an educator and an attendee. Both perspectives have only cemented his opinion that serious providers simply can’t afford to miss Medtrade. “Medtrade is now more relevant than ever,” he says. “We all need to evolve to our ‘new world’ and Medtrade is going to showcase new opportunities and cutting edge education that reflects that new world.”
Jeff Baird (pictured, left), JD, points out that in early October, two events will be in play. First, round two of competitive bidding will have been in effect for more than three months. Second, momentum for MPP will be ratcheted up.
“Medtrade is the only venue in which many valuable opportunities are offered to DME suppliers,” says Baird, chairman of the Health Care Group, Brown & Fortunato. “The education programs, for example, will be excellent and ‘cutting edge.’ The Medtrade Education Advisory Board understands the challenges facing the industry and has put together education programs designed to help suppliers meet these challenges.”
