ATLANTA – The upcoming Medtrade (Oct 20-23, 2014 in Atlanta) has an excellent line-up of speakers who will present programs addressing the most important topics faced by DME suppliers today. Every issue of Medtrade Monday, leading up to Medtrade, will highlight a Medtrade program.

On Tuesday, October 21, 2014, Bill Stelzer (pictured), Owner of Bill Stelzer Consulting and Ahia, will present an in-depth program entitled Home Modifications – Essentials for Success.

Home Modification: Essentials for Success
This topic relates well to DME suppliers who want to increase cash/credit card or commercial sales, thereby helping to free them from the rigors, regulations, and low profit margins of traditional Medicare fee-for-service. DME suppliers can become less dependent on Medicare, Medicaid, and traditional health insurance reimbursement by selling directly to consumers (mostly non-reimbursable home modifications and home comfort products). Increased sales, profitability, and cash flow can be attained.

This session will introduce Medtrade attendees to the home modifications marketplace and provide information to be successful. who makes up this marketplace; how to reach them; the products and services to include; and most importantly how to convert those consumers into customers and “Fans” of your company.

Stelzer: There are 78 million “Baby Boomers” who are retiring at the rate of 10,000 per day. As the Boomers age, they will want to live in their homes, not in a long term care facility. The demand for home modifications and related products will increase exponentially.
