Manufacturer/Provider

Call for Entries – The Biannual Innovative HME Retail Product Awards

August 24, 2015

ATLANTA – If you know of some great retail products, feel free to call up the manufacturer and urge them to enter the biannual Innovative HME Retail Product Awards, a tradition at Medtrade (sponsored by HomeCare Magazine) that honors HME products that are suited for retail sale. Any manufacturer that exhibits at Medtrade is eligible for the award. See the current list of exhibitors HERE. The purpose of the competition is to promote and recognize products that contribute to providers’ bottom lines though cash sales.

Products will be reviewed by judges and the top eight will advance to an onsite judging round. The top eight products will be presented in a Medtrade conference session, The Best New Retail/Cash Opportunities, on Tuesday, Oct 27, 9:00 a.m., at the C102 Auditorium at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Voting will take place at the session to determine the top three winners.

• View the complete rules, entry form, and contract HERE.
• Entries are due by Oct 2, 2015. If you have any questions about these awards, contact Kevin Gaffney, group show director, at (770) 291-5446 or kevin.gaffney@emeraldexpo.com

The format will be similar to Medtrade Spring earlier this year, with the Medtrade audience voting for the top three Innovative Retail Products. To reiterate: Medtrade judges will pick the top eight entries to be presented, and attendees and judges will then vote for the top three products.

The awards and the educational sessions at Medtrade devoted to retail are all part of what we are calling “the rise of caretailing” (see top story in today’s Medtrade Monday). Caretailing is the act of providing customer service and expertise to consumers willing to pay cash for health-related products that improve their lives and are beyond the usual scope of Medicare and other third party payers.

Caretailing is no place for dabblers, but we believe that those who commit to a sound marketing strategy can survive and thrive. Educational sessions on the topic will be well represented, and I urge you to look at the full slate of educational sessions at Medtrade by clicking HERE.
