ORLANDO, FL – Powered by Medtrade Radio and sponsored by Emerge Sales, the latest episode of HME Voice aired last week. “Our guests brought specific solutions for surviving and ultimately thriving in this environment,” says Mike Sperduti (pictured left with Kevin Gaffney), founder of Emerge Sales and co-host of HME Voice. “The guests provided some specific takeaways that listeners can implement right after the show. It also gives a preview to a much greater blueprint for success at Medtrade.”

• Craig Hittle, senior manager, Somerset CPAs
• Geoff Kearney, CEO, Praedx
• Gregg Timmons, president and CEO, MedAct Software
• Mike Sperduti, founder, Emerge Sales (as interviewed by Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade)
Hittle drew on his considerable experience helping providers assess their business for future growth. “There are critical benchmarks,” said Hittle. “What do the numbers mean? What are the ratios you want to look at that can give you warning signals?…I think a lot of people would be surprised. Look at the balance sheet and the equity number. Look at your debt-to-equity ratio.”
Kearney and Timmons talked about cash flow in the HME industry, which is essentially all about having the necessary cash to fund and grow the business. “Profit doesn’t count until it’s in the bank,” says Kearny. “Cash is king.”
For those who are profitable but don’t seem to have cash, the answer is to look at receivables. “You must have a holistic view of the business,” adds Kearny. “We do a 360-degree view of your data and anticipate what might be happening tomorrow.”
Mike Sperduti’s combination of expertise and sharp wit wraps up Season Two, Episode Five of HME Voice. “I work with a lot of clients who are growing their business, believe it or not,” says Sperduti. “And there are people who did not prepare…My session [in the 6-4-18 Series] is for the people who bear the responsibility to lead in this time of crisis.”
All four guests are also slated to speak at Medtrade, scheduled for Oct 7-10 in Orlando, Fla. Kearney, Timmons, Hittle, and Sperduti will participate in Medtrade’s 6-4-18 Series, specifically designed to provide six building blocks for success in the next eighteen months.
These six sessions (listed below) will teach attendees about effective collections, purchasing and cash flow management; reducing risk; diversification and operational efficiencies; and leading transformation in the business. These presentations are included with conference pass.
