ATLANTA – Medtrade Spring veterans (and rookies) are making plans for the Oct 26-29, 2015, Medtrade show in Atlanta, Ga, thanks largely to momentum generated in Las Vegas. Angelique Gilbert, director of Marketing at Complete Care Medical, Houston, Tex, made her first trip to Medtrade Spring this year, and the Las Vegas trip expanded her company’s product selection and set the stage for further growth.
“I thought Medtrade Spring was really good,” said Gilbert. “There was a good mix of manufacturers on the show floor, and all kinds of cool products. We just launched an e-commerce site, so we were really going there to chat with vendors and see the innovative products. We found some products that fit our niche, and we are in talks with these companies now.”
Additional sentiments from Medtrade Spring:
“The selection of compression garments and stockings was particularly good at Medtrade Spring.”
— Andrew Johnson, director of Materials, Medi-South, Houston, Texas
“We were looking for things for our retail store—a lot of cash-and-carry items—and there were a lot of them. We ordered from four or five companies, and we spent $10,000.”
— Amy Dahl, director of Sales and Marketing, Smarter Living, Wabasha, Minn
“I attend Medtrade every year. This year I went to the Las Vegas show for the first time, and I enjoyed walking around and seeing the new products.”
— Shaun Duhon, territory manager, Texas Medical Distributors, Lafayette, Louisiana
“I would not miss Medtrade Spring [Las Vegas] or Medtrade [Oct 26-29, 2015 in Atlanta]. I think those shows are very important. There are great educational sessions, and the networking is invaluable.”
— Jackie Semrad, corporate compliance officer, Reliable Medical Supply, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
“The reason I go to the Las Vegas show is the time I spend visiting with others who are going through the same things. In 26 years of going to these shows, I know a lot of people. Medtrade Spring is very helpful. I make a lot of key contacts every year at the show, and I see a lot of friendly faces.”
— Mark S. Farmer, owner of Southwest Mobility Inc, Mesa, Arizona
“We divide and conquer at Medtrade Spring and get nuggets of information. We always end up finding critical pieces of information at the educational sessions, or with our fellow associates out there who are fighting the good fight and trying to thrive, not just survive in the industry. We also go to Medtrade in the Fall.”
— John Cassar, CEO, SuperCare Health, Los Angeles
“I think it’s more important than ever to attend Medtrade for information gathering, sharing what I know, and checking in with my vendors. There is something to be said for personal relationships and looking people in the eye. I need to do more of that, and getting out to see and meet with so many people at one time is probably the most economical way to do it as well.”
— Pamela M. Kaehler, MBA, executive director of Mon HealthCare Inc, Morgantown, West Virginia, and Fairmont Home Equipment & Supply Company, Fairmont, West Virginia
“Medtrade Spring was a good show, and attendees got a lot out of it,” added Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade. “Registration for the Oct 26-29 Medtrade show at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta starts in just three weeks—June 22 to be exact. Early rates will be in effect for those looking to save money. Registration links will be in the June 22 issue of Medtrade Monday.”
