In-Depth on Day One with Workshops and Fitter’s Course

LAS VEGAS – Day one of Medtrade Spring, set to start in three weeks, is all about options. For those who attend any of three six-hour workshops, or one Fitter’s Course (all scheduled for 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30), the pay-off is in-depth understanding. After the 6-hour session, attendees may also choose from several educational sessions that go from 4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Unlike previous Medtrade Springs, Monday will also have a full slate of one-hour and/or 90-minute educational sessions on tap. “It makes a lot of sense this year for attendees to get into Las Vegas on Sunday, March 29, or sooner, to have a little more fun in Vegas, and to fully experience the packed day one at Medtrade Spring,” says Kevin Gaffney, group show director, Medtrade. “If you want to do a six-hour workshop on Monday, or if you prefer a varied series of shorter educational sessions, you will have the options on Monday, March 30, day one of Medtrade Spring.”

It amounts to a lot of knowledge and a tremendous start to a show that is designed to inform and inspire. For those who are hesitant about spending time in a classroom on Monday, March 30, Mike Sperduti has a simple message. “Don’t come,” says Sperduti, president of the Mike Sperduti Companies. “Because good is not good enough these days. But if you’re a person who understands that you have to be better than you were yesterday, then we want you at the workshops and/or educational sessions.”

The three workshops (plus the Fitter’s Course) on tap are:  

An Introduction to the Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME)
Speakers: Michelle Yoon, BOC credentialing manager; Carrie Green, BOC marketing manager; and Jim Howle, senior director of National Rehab/Orthotics Network, The MED Group
The Certified DME Specialist (CDME) is a person who demonstrates broad knowledge of the DME/supply industry, including prescription verification, intake process, product selection, dispensing and setup, documentation, billing, compliance, and performance management. This workshop will cover the scope of practice for the CDME and prepare attendees to take the CDME examination.

The Mike Sperduti Sales Management Workshop

The Fitter’s Course
Compression Therapy and Its Application in the Management of Venous Disease
Speaker: Judith Brannan, education/medical affairs Manager, SIGVARIS Inc
This workshop is designed to provide attendees with a fundamental understanding of venous anatomy and disease progression to then better serve the patient regarding compression therapy.

Managing and Monitoring “Worklists”
Speaker: Kathy Quehl, senior implementation consultant, Brightree
During this workshop, attendees will learn the key Brightree tools and best practices to help manage processes via existing pre-created worklists, as well as how to create custom worklists to establish a unique work-flow. Attendees will also learn how to utilize Brightree’s reporting and functionality to help manage, monitor and measure work activity areas.
