AAHomecare: Your voice in Washington, D.C.


The American Association for Homecare (AAHomecare) works to preserve and strengthen access to care for the millions of Americans who require medical care in their homes.

AAHomecare represents healthcare providers, equipment manufacturers, and other organizations in the homecare community. AAHomecare members serve the medical needs of millions of Americans who require oxygen equipment and therapy, mobility assistive technologies, medical supplies, inhalation drug therapy, home infusion, and other home medical equipment, therapies, services, and supplies in the home. Membership reflects a broad cross-section of the homecare community, including providers of all sizes operating approximately 3,000 locations in all 50 states.

Whether it is a legislative issue being debated on Capitol Hill or a Medicare regulation being proposed by CMS, AAHomecare represents and fights for the interests of homecare companies that provide home medical equipment, products and supplies and the manufacturers whose customers supply those items to Medicare beneficiaries.

Advocating for your business, your patients, and building our unified voice in Washington is essential to the viability of the HME industry. This is perhaps even more relevant this year, given the opportunities we have to secure better public policy for HME in 2017 – even if those gains occur primarily through regulation, Congressional support will play an important role. In addition, building relationships on Capitol Hill takes a persistent effort; we can’t afford to ease up on that process now.

We'll work with you to schedule the right appointments. Once you get here, you'll have access to homecare's top experts, who will help you understand the details of the key issues during a day-long series of seminars. We'll also provide tips on the best ways to establish working relationships with your members of Congress, give you handouts to leave behind in Hill offices after your appointments, and then follow-up with those offices to reinforce your message.
